APRN Compact

South Dakota's legislature adopted the Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Compact in 2024. The APRN compact allows qualified CNMs, CNPs, CRNAs, & CNSs to hold one multistate license and to use the license to practice in other APRN Compact states. 

The compact is not in effect yet; seven states need to join before it will be implemented. Currently, four states have joined, Deleware, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Utah.
